Staff at Age Concern, in Cockerton, want people to have a festive clear-out to help boost their stock levels.

The charity shop's merchandise supplies generally dip before Christmas - a trend which this year has apparently been compounded by the recession.

The shop is looking for clothes, shoes and accessories as well as household items such as books, DVDs and CDs.

tag heuer replica Sam Towle, shop manager, said: "We are asking people in Darlington to have a pre-Christmas clear-out which, in turn, will help older people in the town.

"We always tend to have lower stock levels at this time of year. I also think the recession may not help - people seem to be hanging on to things for longer."

Anyone who wants to donate goods can turn up at the shop, which is in Cockerton Green, between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Saturday. The shop can be contacted on 01325351161.
